Dead Space 2 Cheats and Unlocks

There aren’t a lot of cheats in Dead Space 2, but the game does have enough to make it worth your while.  While there’s nowhere in the game to enter actual Dead Space 2 cheat codes, there are some unlocks and tricks that one could consider “cheats”.  We’ve compiled a list of these below for your enjoyment, have at it.

Free Credits: Melee an ATM machine to make credits come out of it.

Health Restore: When you get a new suit, save it.  Putting on a new suit for the first time restores your health to full, so don’t use it until you’re low on health.

Teddy Bear Cash: In chapter 3, after the spaz out in the girl’s room, there are 1500 credits beneath the Teddy Bear in the closet.

Gun, Suit, and Item Locations

Contact Beam: The contact beam is in the closet to the left of the power node near the first save point in Chapter 7.

Detonator: In Chapter 5, go to the room at the top of the church.  You can’t miss it.

Force Gun: In Chapter 7, turn left after you get off the elevator and look in the 2nd yellow locker.

Hand Cannon: Simply beat the game on Hardcore difficulty to unlock this gun.  After you do, it will be available for purchase in the shops in your next game.

Pulse Rifle: This gun is hidden behind the train in chapter 3, just after getting off the train.

Pulse Rounds and Flamethrower: After Ellie opens the gate for you in chapter 6, don’t go in and instead go just to the right of the gate to get the Pulse Rounds.  Later, as you’re leaving the gym, you can find the Flamethrower in the room with the crazy kids.

Seeker Shells: In chapter 9, after you battle with the stalkers you can find the seeker shells near the exit to the room behind the guardian.
